deep foam to reach the car park.\u00a0\u00a0It looked liked snow, so deep that we could not see the road and as we ploughed through, the foam covering our windscreen.\u00a0\u00a0 But it was worth it, to get a good view of the waves breaking on the cliffs and the harbour wall at Collieston.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.couttsweb.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/2015-12-24-14.11.14.jpg\" Dub.\u00a0 I read up about the name and discovered that a Spanish Ship called the Santa Caterina, carrying arms for the Earl of Erroll&#8217;s Catholic plot against King James VI\u00a0is said to have sunk\u00a0here in 1594.\u00a0 Cannons have been recovered from the wreck.\u00a0 In retaliation\u00a0the King ordered that the Earl&#8217;s castle which stood on the cliffs, a mile north of Collieston be blown up, The Earl went on to rebuild Slains Castle, six miles further up the coast at Cruden Bay, in 1597.<\/p>\n<p><a
