I have been trying to take some photographs every day, no matter what the weather.\u00a0 Today was not very promising with grey skies and drizzle.\u00a0 However I tossed my camera bag into the car when I sent off to Peterhead to do one or two jobs.<\/p>\n

I wondered if I might get an atmospheric misty shot down at the beach but I was reluctant to take my camera out in the rain.\u00a0\u00a0 Lily and Poppy were having none of it.\u00a0\u00a0 “We are at the beach, are we? let’s go!”\u00a0 Barking enthusiastically, there was no denying them.\u00a0 And all three of us were glad we went.\"IMG_5968\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There was an oil supply boat lying offshore.\u00a0 I had photographed this sort of scene before in sunshine.\u00a0 Now I tried a shot in the drizzle.\u00a0\u00a0 These poles driven into the sand are a favourite foreground of mine and I think my grey beach picture works quite well, with the boat receding in the mist and the poles adding a dramatic foreground.<\/p>\n

I notice a few shore birds about.\u00a0 I wondered if I could catch the oystercatchers in the foreground of a shot, but they had different ideas, flying off with their unmistakable screech before I could get into position.\u00a0 If you look very carefully in the picture of the dogs you will see them in the distance on the right of the picture where they had landed a safe distance away.<\/p>\n

But my favourite picture from today’s grey walk is the line of Turnstones (at least that’s what I think they are) walking along the shore.\u00a0\u00a0 I had spied a big flock of them under the footbridge that leads to the beach and I put the dogs safely in the car before I t\u00a0tried to stalk them.\u00a0\u00a0 But they saw me coming too, and off they flew up the river a bit.\u00a0 The ones that were left, the brave ones, went for a walk, and I got them!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
