We went for a walk along the beach at Cruden Bay on Saturday evening.\u00a0 It was getting late, but it was a lovely, if chilly evening.\u00a0 We had the beach to ourselves, well nearly.\u00a0 We met one lady from Massachusetts who was staying in a local hotel and was delighted to chat and to greet our dogs.\u00a0\u00a0 We were able to give her some local information and tell her how to find Slains Castle\u00a0which she hoped to visit the next day.\u00a0 It was only when I got home and looked at the pictures I had taken that I noticed she appears as the lone figure on the beach, almost lost on the wide stretch of sand at low tide.<\/p>\n

The dogs did enjoy their run.\u00a0 Poppy circled us over and over again and even tried to scale the dunes.\u00a0 Poor Lily always comes second in the races, but she does not seem to mind.<\/p>\n

My eye was taken by these tacks in the sand, a straight line far into the distance.\u00a0 The footprints were quite far spaced.\u00a0 I think it had been\u00a0two people\u00a0running\u00a0along the beach.<\/p>\n

The Ladies Bridge across the Water of Cruden which gives access to the sands was rebuilt about a year ago now.\u00a0 It is wider than the old bridge, and quite sturdy.\u00a0 It is a shame, though, that the wood has been left its natural colour.\u00a0 It does lack the impact of the old bridge which shone out with its white paintwork.<\/p>\n
